In January of 2008, VRE led a group of 20 volunteer doctors, dentists and nurses from nearby cities to the schools we built in Tien Giang, an island in the Mekong Delta. There, 600 children attending our schools lined up for free medical check-ups.

Over the day, the medical professionals gave each child a check-up, administering medication and advice when necessary. Additionally, the students received medicine, vitamins, toothpaste, and school supplies.
