This school, built in Vietnam by the nonprofit VRE was opened on August 20, 2009, in the Don Xuan commune of Tra Cu district, Tra Vinh province, in southern Vietnam. This is one of the poorest communes in Vietnam's Mekong Delta region. Members of VRE's board, including Truc To, attended the ceremony. VRE's Vietnam Director Toan Lam and VRE volunteers including Kimberly Hastie also attended. The school children and teachers were overjoyed to have new classrooms to replaced their leaky thatched roof classrooms.
