In 2008, VRE built the three-room Chung Hoan Chu school in the Ben Tre province. The school will ultimately benefit thousands of children, and 485 will study here its first years.

Built in the My An commune, the poorest area in the region, we replaced a structure that had an asbestos roof which was pocketed with holes, making school use during the rainy season nearly impossible. The school will be a welcome addition in a village where the average person’s monthly income is $12.50.

This school was sponsored on behalf of Dr. Dennis and Mrs. Linda Chu, Vietnamese Americans living in California, by their family.
