In 2009, VRE expects to complete three classrooms of the Tuong Loc School in Vinh Long province. We plan on building another three classrooms next year. In this area of the Mekong Delta, known for its fruit orchards and rice production, 20% of the children are malnourished. Additionally, 75% of the population has no access to clean water, instead using water from rivers or canals.

This school will benefit 140 students its first near, and in coming years will help thousands.

This is a photo of the original school we are replacing. The foundation is cracked, and holes in the ceiling make studying during the rainy season impossible.
