Battered by Typhoon Durian in 2006, VRE renovated five classrooms and built another one new for the Quoi Thanh primary school, located in the Phu Phong hamlet of Ben Tre province. About 300 children -- some of whom are featured in the photograph to the right -- will benefit directly from the school; a total of 1,500 children live in the area.

The school will open in 2009.
